This 2 Day Intensive picks up where the Contemporary Cupping Methods Workshop section leaves off.   The added bonus is the reduced wear and tear to the practitioner. The physical repetitive activity is tough on the professional body worker. Cupping greatly increases the practitioners’ comfort and physical longevity and career. This fact alone merits attention from every body-worker who uses their hands, arms, legs and back.	Sports Massage is a special form of massage with two very different types of massage: pre-event massage, and post-event massage. The purpose of the massage is designed to address the needs of an athlete either before or after major exertion - to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries. OrthopediCupping incorporates the use of static and dynamic negative pressure to treat soft tissue injuries and conditions. Students will learn techniques to treat symptoms associated with post traumatic injuries and chronic pain syndromes. Negative Pressure is a superior approach to treating a myriad of Orthopedic and stubborn conditions, not only in opening up the compacted joints and the loosening of surrounding structures, but also in pulling out the dead cellular debris and blood, stagnant lymph and accumulated toxins, thus drawing in fresh, living blood and nutirent space to clean, repair and revitilize the problem areas.
In this 2 Day Workshop... You will learn multiple dynamic and static Cupping techniques to perform a variety of different treatments and protocols. Each Day we incorportate audio/visual presentations, lecture, Q&A, demos, hands-on demo exchange between students - each student will perform and receive the treatments demonstrated by instructors. CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR CUPPING
Cupping is contraindicated in cases of severe diseases, lesions, bulging discs, injection sites, organ failure, ascites due to hepato-cirrhosis and severe edema, as well as hemorrhagic diseases such as allergic pupura, hemophilia and leukemia, and clients with dermatosis, destruction of skin, or allergic dermatitis. Cupping should not be applied on the portion where hernia exists or has occurred in the past. For pregnant women, the lower abdomen, medial leg and sacral region should be avoided.

Professional Cupping Therapists practice pre-session assessments - not only at the time of initial intake but everytime they prepare to administer Cupping Therapy on their clients. Client needs can change from day to day - addressing those needs can also change.
